I teach IB English A: Language and Literature, mainly at HL, after several years in international school classrooms and one-to-one tutoring. My lessons are usually text-led: we read the passage properly, then turn that into sharper claims and cleaner analysis. I’m especially useful for Paper 1, HL essay planning and IO practice, where small changes in phrasing can lift a response. Students often bring messy drafts, and we work line by line.

Hi, I’m an IB English tutor who spends a lot of time on the bits students often find awkward: how to start a commentary, what actually counts as analysis, and how to make the IO sound prepared but not robotic. I’ve worked with students taking English A: Literature at SL and HL, and I like using short extracts first before building up to full essays.
